Common signs
Sound familiar?
✓ The week or two before your period: rage, despair, dread
✓ Relief within days of bleeding starting
✓ Conflict that follows the calendar
✓ Physical symptoms riding along — bloating, breast pain, fatigue
✓ It disrupts work or relationships monthly
✓ Regular mood care hasn't matched the pattern
Not a fit: A checklist is not a diagnosis — an evaluation is. If several of these fit, it's worth a conversation.
How we evaluate it
Diagnosis is prospective: two cycles of daily symptom ratings (in the app) confirm the luteal pattern — because retrospective memory misleads everyone, including clinicians. We also screen for underlying depression or anxiety that PMDD amplifies.
How we evaluate it
Options with real evidence: SSRIs dosed continuously or luteal-phase only (they work fast in PMDD), hormonal strategies coordinated with Thrive Hormones, and cycle-aware therapy. Perimenopausal mood shifts get the same one-chart treatment.
Cost & insurance
Evaluations and follow-ups bill to our participating plans or transparent self-pay. Benefits verified and your expected cost reviewed before your first visit.
What measured care looks like
DRSP tracked at every visit
The Daily Record of Severity of Problems is scored before each appointment, so improvement — or its absence — is visible early and the plan changes when the data says to. Illustrative course shown; individual results vary.

What's different here
How two cycles of tracking makes the diagnosis
PMDD is diagnosed prospectively: daily symptom ratings across two menstrual cycles, in the app, showing symptoms that rise in the luteal phase and clear within days of bleeding. Memory misleads everyone — including clinicians — which is why we don't diagnose from a description alone. The tracking also reveals when there's an underlying depression or anxiety that PMDD is amplifying, which changes the plan.
Once the pattern is confirmed, luteal-phase-only SSRI dosing is a real option: serotonergic medication works within days in PMDD, not weeks.

PMDD & Cycle-Linked Mood questions
Really. PMDD responds to serotonergic medication within days, which allows intermittent dosing many patients prefer. It's one of psychiatry's better-kept secrets.
Both — an abnormal brain sensitivity to normal hormone shifts. Which is exactly why treating it in one chart beats bouncing between two specialists.
