Common signs
Sound familiar?
✓ Re-experiencing — intrusions, nightmares, flashbacks
✓ On edge: startle, scanning, sleep that won't deepen
✓ Avoiding people, places or topics that trigger it
✓ Numbness or detachment from people you love
✓ Guilt, shame, or a changed view of the world
✓ Symptoms lasting more than a month
Not a fit: A checklist is not a diagnosis — an evaluation is. If several of these fit, it's worth a conversation.
How we evaluate it
A trauma-informed evaluation that never requires retelling details before you're ready — PCL-5 tracking, screening for the depression, substance use and sleep disorders that travel with trauma, and honest triage between PTSD and adjacent diagnoses.
How we evaluate it
Treatment starts with the evidence: medication management with real follow-up, individual therapy, or both — tracked with validated measures so we know it's working, and escalated honestly when it isn't. Prazosin for nightmares where indicated. When PTSD co-occurs with resistant depression, advanced options are evaluated under the same roof.
Cost & insurance
Evaluations and follow-ups bill to our participating plans or transparent self-pay. Benefits verified and your expected cost reviewed before your first visit.
What measured care looks like
PCL-5 tracked at every visit
The PTSD Checklist is scored before each appointment, so improvement — or its absence — is visible early and the plan changes when the data says to. Illustrative course shown; individual results vary.

What's different here
Therapy or medication first? It depends on the symptom
Trauma-focused therapies — prolonged exposure, cognitive processing therapy, EMDR — have the strongest evidence for PTSD and are the goal. But nightmares, hyperarousal and insomnia can make therapy impossible to start; medication (SSRIs, and prazosin for nightmares) clears the ground. We sequence them for your picture, and you never retell details before you're ready.

PTSD & Trauma questions
Not before you're ready, and some effective treatments require less detail than people fear. The evaluation moves at your pace.
Evidence is emerging and mixed — we'll tell you honestly where it stands for your picture rather than sell you an infusion.
PTSD care bills like any psychiatric care — major plans accepted, benefits verified first. Veterans: we're in the VA CCN (Optum Serve) network.
